Not all Afternoon Tea’s are about the tea, or even in the afternoon. The Sanderson Hotel offers a delightful twist on the typical tea rituals with their *appropriately* named Mad Hatter’s Tipsy Tea…appropriate because it will in fact leave you tipsy but also just as the Mad Hatter is associated with anything but ordinary this tea experience absolutely follows suit.Quirky and whimsical, the Mad Hatter’s Tipsy Tea is served in the covered terrace of the Sanderson Hotel. Minutes from the bustle of Oxford Street, this centrally located destination is easily accessible and the perfect remedy following a day of “mad” shopping on London’s infamous high street. The Tipsy Tea contains a cocktail flight of four featuring two alcohol infused teas and two martinis– the hot Mad Hatter tea infused with pear and rhubarb liquor…need I say more?! Warms you right up. The food lineup contains an abundance of both savory and sweet numbers with my favorites being the toasted walnut and mushroom sandwich on parmesan bread and the croque-monsieur with Wiltshire ham and Applewood bacon. But definitely save room for the sweets…almost all are alcohol infused! The red velvet vodka ladybird and Alice’s naughty potion of chocolate infused Baileys’ are the perfect ending to a wander down this rabbit hole!
The menu changes seasonly, so besides that chocolate potion, there’s one more reason to stumble back!
