Beach Beauty Essentials

After spending last weekend in the hot sunshine of the Bahamas, I wanted to share some of my current must-haves for the beach! The season of sunshine is upon us!

These are my 3 favorite hair products for beach waves! Sea salt always brings out the natural, beachy, tousled waves for my hair.

Fake Bake: This is my favorite way to get that beautiful beachy glow, even before you go! It’s very natural and comes with an easy application mitt. It is very comparable to spray tanning in that the color soaks in over time. I find it best to apply after an exfoliating shower in the evening. Let it soak in over night and shower again in the morning! You will notice some color washing off in the shower but this is normal and you will still maintain a beautiful bronze glow! The trick with Fake Bake is that it is made for self-application–so I find it easiest to use on legs and arms and you would need an extra person to apply evenly to your back. Another favorite trick for a last minute glow is to use Sally Hansen’s Airbrush Legs (not listed above). It is basically leg makeup that applies like a lotion and washes off in the shower! Perfect for those spring time weddings when your legs have yet to see the sun!

Coola Radical Recovery After-Sun Lotion: Contains Aloe Vera which always feels good post sun exposure but the combination of the Lavender and Sunflower Oil is so refreshing (plus they have great anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties!). It is applied as a lotion so none of that sticky residue you get when applying straight aloe.

Alterna Bamboo Beach Sun Recovery Spray: A leave-in conditioner that nourishes sun exposed hair.

B. Kamins Lip Balm: SPF 20 for your sensitive little lips. Also, very soothing if those lips got too much sun!

For me, make-up at the beach is minimal. These are favorite bronzers for a quick shimmer! Also, lip color of some sort is always essential! 🙂

And the most important beach beauty tip of all time, is SUNSCREEN! The most significant risk factor for melanoma is frequent sun exposure in early life. Here’s my favorite sunscreen, it’s great for sensitive skin!

Protecting our skin and eyes from that bright Bahamas sun!

Coordinating mani-pedis are always fun– especially with a best friend!

Happy beach days! XOXO
