It’s no secret that Instagram is my jam… if there was Instagrammers Anonymous, I’d be at the weekly meeting. It’s just that I love seeing people’s creative and artistic views of well, everything–your morning coffee, exotic travel destinations, the OOTD, whatever! I also LOVE curating my own little gallery of images that all compliment one another and flow together. But creating that perfect insta-worthy image can sometimes take some work….here’s my favorite editing apps for gramming!
TOUCH RETOUCH : the app of all removal apps! For less than $2, you can easily and quickly make those unwanted items disappear from your images! Those unsightly telephone wires, trash on the city sidewalks, skyscrapers, ugh….all gone with the swipe of the brush. It’s the must-have photo editing app. Now to prove it’s value, I thought of the thing I wanted to touch up the most on my travels, the place with the most cranes and construction, the one thing you actually can’t really get away with retouching and not getting caught…. La Sagrada Familia, Gaudi’s masterpiece that has been under construction for over 100 hundred years! The second photo also shows the image with a few tweaks in another favorite editing app…VSCO cam!
VSCO CAM : an all around photo editing app plus the bonus of some really nice filters! Also, you can save your edits making it easy to upload your pics and throw on the edits and keep your gallery cohesive. It’s also the perfect place to preview photos before posting–just load in your last six or so IG pics and then start testing out what fits best in the feed. Bonus, it’s another free app with some really great free filters!
A COLOR STORY : for the color lovers like me, this app is so good at making your photos pop! I also love in the “tools” section where you can really adjust the image’s qualities. The basic filters of this app are really good making this an incredible free app!
And POP…
SNAPSEED : an all around photo editing app, meaning you can brighten, contrast, crop, and rotate….all in one app. The best feature on this app in my opinion, is the selective option. You can hold on a specific area and brighten, contrast, or saturate the area. It’s excellent for making certain colors really POP!
INSTAGRAM : of course, the Instagram app itself has some seriously good editing tools..can’t leave this out! Steer clear of the filters and head straight for the “edit” tab! Here is an example of Insta-editing with a really crappy iPhone photo I took the day I shattered my screen–not the best equipment– but this gorgeous wall was covered in beautiful leaves! The photo obviously didn’t do it justice so with a few tweaks, I almost had it looking real-life.
