Who knew Hungarian food was so delicious??
All Hungarians in unison, “we did!”
Paprika, paprika, paprika. It seems to be the staple seasoning and it is delicious.
You need to find Chicken Paprikash as soon as possible.
Langos. It actually seems like something that was made for a hangover. Fried dough covered in cheese and topped with sour cream and some crunchy fried onions. Mmm.
Kürtőskalács. Sweet, yeasty dough cooked in a stove chimney into a cone, then there’s some butter and sugar and even cinnamon added.
Our favorite restaurants…
Pest-Buda located in the Castle district. You must order the Crépe Hortobágy style stuffed with minced chicken paprika sauce for a starter and the Chicken Paprikash with buttered noodles!
Comme Chez Soi : this little spot is number 1 on Trip Advisor for a reason! PS…cash only!
Café Vian : this restaurant is on a cute little walking street with lots of restaurants lining the walkway…lots of outdoor seating, plus they leave blankets out for diners in case it gets chilly! Must order the Chicken Paprikash with dumplings.
We are also on the lookout for some authentic Hungarian food in London– know any good spots??
