Harajuku was one of my favorite spots in Tokyo — the crazy eccentric outfits, the bright and bold hairstyles, the even crazier, more eccentric desserts, and of course, the coolest cafes and shopping. I wanted so badly to pack something really extreme for a day wandering through Harajuku… you know, some temp pink hair coloring, possibly something tulle, definitely rainbows. But alas, I was packing for some 80-odd days in one (somewhat already overstuffed) backpack. The trendy black jumpsuit will do the trick. I absolutely love the versatility of this piece — which is why it was a MUST in my long term suitcase. Paired with a belt or a t-shirt, it feels casual and dare I say, a little hipster. But throw on some heels and a red lip, night out ready! At its’ original status, the jumpsuit is full length but I had mine hemmed to a culotte type level before we left as I knew we would be doing lots of walking and didn’t want to worry with dragging ( re : short people probs ). The straps are also adjustable which makes it perfect for the day to night switch up — I could let the straps out a bit and have a lower neckline and full length jumpsuit! The jumpsuit also has a gold stripe down the side — a small touch that I love, especially when pairing it with the white trainers with the gold glitter accents. These shoes were another must in my packing because they are SO comfortable and who doesn’t LOVE gold glitter?! Harajuku does!
