The Waldorf Astoria Dubai offers an exceptional number of delicious dining options, most of which offer stunning views of the Palm Jumeirah. Our favorite dinner spot was LAO, serving up creative twists on classic Vietnamese and southern Asian dishes. They have an open kitchen plan with Chef Mai busy directing and composing innovative recipes. LAO has indoor and outdoor seating–we chose alfresco with the views of the hotel’s gardens, the Palm and lit by fire torches. Inside seating is stunning as well, darkly lit with a stylish and sleek presentation and views of the busy kitchen.
The expansive menu offers selections of dim sum, sharing starters, dumplings, Vietnamese bites, an assortment of rolls, soups (including pho!), seafood, meat, and chicken options, as well as the staple of the region, sticky rice!
We recommend : Chicken Siew Mai, Soft Shell Crab, Beef Vietnamese Bites, Crispy Chicken Roll and the Beef Roll, Hanoian Pho, Tajima Wagyu Striploin, and Sticky Rice.
Finish up with the Mango Sticky Rice and the Caramelized Pineapple.
Overall, LAO was a great option and the romantic setting was perfect for our last evening in Dubai!
