Back to Barcelona! One of my favorite European foodie spots. Who doesn’t love Spanish wine, cava and sangria?! Wait, those are only drinks… But endless tapas with those, #winning.

We hopped back to Barcelona for a football match and of course, said drinks & tapas. Staying in the heart of the city in Las Ramblas, we settled into our weekend home at Hotel 1898.Las Ramblas is one of the most popular neighborhoods in Barcelona and with that comes the crowds! Hotel 1898 felt like a step away from the bustling streets and our quiet little haven for the weekend. Not to mention this spa situation…The central location also means it’s super easy to get around to all the best bits of Barcelona…since this wasn’t our first visit, we opted for our local faves! A walk down to the beach, a stop for the most delicious cream filled croissants, and of course, the football match! Also, Hotel 1898 has the most amazing rooftop terrace…a stunning pool, chic loungers, and of course, a bar! In summertime, this spot must be perfection.

BEST PLACES TO EAT IN LAS RAMBLAS 

Mercat de la Boqueria : five minutes from the hotel, this market has the freshest and best foods! Swing in for an afternoon snack or grab lunch!

Elisabet’s : a classic Spanish restaurant, great for tapas!

Bacaro : a chic, trendy Las Ramblas spot!

Granja Viader : about to celebrate its’ 150th birthday, this classic restaurant is a tasty spot you won’t want to miss!

Pastisseria Hofmann : no matter where you are in Barcelona, find this spot! The mascarpone croissants are seriously heavenly.
