the belle is not abroad
{Unless, of course, you started following along while we were living in London and then yes, we’re now abroad in the USA!}
We officially left London late summer and spent a few months traveling the world before settling back in North Carolina. It’s not abroad but we still love traveling + escaping abroad to new destinations — so I’m keeping the name! The Belle Abroad is here to stay.
what’s next
life in north carolina
You may not know that we actually moved to London from NC — so this is home to us! When we decided it was time to leave London, *bittersweet tears*, we knew North Carolina was the only place to go! We love living so close to our family and friends.
I am excited to share our life here with you but if you’re here for all the travel inspo and tips, fear not, I still have the travel bug!
But if you also LOVE all the other things…fashion, beauty, home decor, fitness…stay tuned — I am excited to expand my creative content here at TBA.
and…
getting personal
I never expected moving back to North Carolina to be harder than moving across the ocean to another country…but it is.
I should have been a little prepared for it, our families and friends kind of all predicted it, but I thought it would go smooth, easy, natural. Truthfully, it has been everything but. Don’t get wrong, I want this — we chose to move back + honestly, are really excited about it. Just maybe expected a lot of that excitement to overshadow all the hard bits.
I’m still working through this transition phase but would love to hear from y’all — if you have tips about adjusting to or from living abroad.

hope everything goes well for you back home:)
thank you tanja! 🙂
I’ve dealt with it too! I was living in Belgium for a few years and had to move back to Kentucky. I knew eventually I would move back to the US but I didn’t really expect to move back to my home state immediately. It took a bit of time adjusting, but what really helped me out was just traveling. While I didn’t go abroad again for quite some time, I explored my own state, I drove around for the hell of it, made weekend trips out of state. So maybe it’s something you all can do!
Hi Amber! Thanks so much for sharing with me! I think that sounds like such a good plan — there’s so many beautiful and unique places stateside that I always forget about 🙂
