Lucerne is a charming little gem tucked away in the valley of the Swiss Alps. Built around the lake, the city is a panoramic of picturesque.
Spend at least a day wandering around the beautiful lake, taking note of the scenic views from every angle of the waterfront. Grab a bottle of wine and head out on a paddle boat to experience it all from the crisp and clear Swiss lake. Cross over one of Europe’s oldest wooden bridges, Kapellbrücke, decorated elegantly with flowers. Stroll along the Reuss river while people surround you enjoying food and drinks under umbrellas.
To view my favorite vantage point in Lucerne, you need a car. We rented one in Basel and made a long weekend of exploring Zurich, Lucerne, and Engelberg. The easiest way to get to the most amazing view is to use your sat-nav to Hotel Himmelrich.
You may see some of this along the way…
Park at the hotel and walk to the end of the lot and BAM….
Breathtaking views! Especially as the sun is setting.
