One of my goals for our Iceland holiday was to see the Northern Lights….as probably most visitors aim for! We arrived late Friday night and began the drive from KEF airport to Hotel Ranga, heading far and away from the light pollution of Reykjavik. The ranch style hotel offers a luxury stay while maintaining a remote and away-from-it-all feel….perfect for those seeking a glimpse at the Northern Lights! They even offer wake-up calls in the night if the lights are spotted!Hotel Ranga has several hot tubs overlooking the rolling hills…with the sunrise coming around 11 am, this was the perfect spot to warm up, grab a cup of joe and watch the sun come up!One of my favorite perks of the hotel was the postcard they provide in the rooms…that they mail anywhere in the world for you! We sent ours over the pond back to North Carolina!  From Hotel Ranga, you are well on your start to drive the Golden Circle or if you have more time, right on the path to the Ring Road. Nearby sights also include Mt Hekla Volcano and the Glacier Lagoon!  Hotel Ranga is the perfect spot to experience a remote and peaceful escape in Iceland…and if you’re lucky catch a glimpse of Aurora!
