If you only have one day in NYC and you want to totally rock it, here is a fun filled, girls day out! It has everything you need….cute coffee shops, insta-worthy photo ops, drool worthy foodie stops, and of course, the incredible NYC views! I dragged my gal pal Molly of Molly’s Musings (and our insta-hubs!) on this 9 mile trek across Manhattan in about 12 hours but if you have more time, space it out over a weekend.
Top of the Rock : book your tickets in advance (here!) so you don’t waste any time waiting! There’s a lot of debate out there about the best view of the city — Top of the Rock or the Empire State Building… of course, the Empire State Building is so very iconic and classic NYC but I like the Top of the Rock because you have the best view of the Empire State Building!
Flatiron Building : from the Top of the Rock, take a 30 minute walk through Time Square and down Broadway to land at the iconic Flatiron Building.
Washington Mews : a 15 minute walk south, through one of my favorite NYC neighborhoods, Greenwich Village, will take you to the cutest little street…Washington Mews. After living in London, I am so obsessed with Mews. This one does not disappoint!
Good Records (218 E 5th St, New York, NY) : a 12 minute walk away, it the insta-famous PINK record shop!
It’s SNACK TIME : and the choices are so good around here! All within about a 5 minute walk, you can visit…DO Cookie Dough (the uber trendy cookie dough cone spot, might be serious queues so be prepared!) OR by CHLOE (where we ended up, a super chic coffee//bakery shop!) OR Dominque Ansel (the OG in cronuts…so delicious but late in the day, they may be sold out!).
Brooklyn Bridge : now the big walk comes in, about a 40 minutes walk south, you’ll pass through the trendy Nolita and if you’re interested, a stop in Chinatown, to end at the Brooklyn Bridge. We actually arrived close to sunset and I worried it would be impossible to snap a photo without a million other people but if you head toward the Brooklyn side of the bridge, you can get some great photos! Watch out for cyclists though!
Manhattan Bridge : Beside the Brooklyn Bridge, is the gorgeous Manhattan Bridge, another highly photogenic spot!
Dinner at Tacombi : Y’all know I am obsessed with some Mexican food… and Tacombi does not disappoint. There are three locations, all equally adorable and delicious.
Other Snacking Options : MILK, Cha Cha Matcha, Levain
Other Dinner Options** : The Meatball Shop, Parm, Frankie’s Spuntino
**a huge thank you to my gal pal Mairin of A Globe Trot for these dining recs! She lived in NYC for years plus I’ve ate with her so I know she likes good food 🙂
Pin this for later!
