Winter is officially closing in on us here in London and it’s safe to say most of Europe. Now the brisk, chilly air and possible snowfall may seem like a hindrance to your travels but there are SO many reasons to love winter in Europe! Christmas decorations are currently making their official arrival throughout, with most major cities ready to turn on the lights November 1st. And the Christmas markets. Even just the smell is enough to lure you over to this side of the pond…cinnamon, chestnuts, mulled wine, German brats. Another bonus! Travel is less popular this time of year so you may score some serious deals and you won’t be bumping elbows with a million other tourists.
So what’s holding you back?! Yes, it may seem daunting to pack for cold weather in one carry-on but fear not! IT IS POSSIBLE. And layers are totally in, so you can look chic and stylish while jaunting around Europe. This is my sample outfit guide for 2 weeks in one carry-on: 7 tops, 2 pants, 1 cardigan, 1 skirt, 1 winter/waterproof jacket, 1 hat, 1 scarf, 1 set of gloves, 2 shoes, 1 set of thermals, 1 pair of tights and loads of undies.
I also read this amazing life hack on how to stop ruining your tights: run your new tights under water for a few seconds, squeeze out, freeze overnight in a plastic bag, then the next morning let them gradually come to room temp! Super helpful for traveling with tights.
Creating a plan for your outfits will help you visualize the potential and keep you on track when traveling! And of course, wear your heaviest, bulkiest items on the plane!
